Two people were hurt Saturday when a house exploded on Charlton Heights Road in Moon Township.

Shawn Landa, 47, was inside the house when it exploded. He was flown to a hospital.

Allen Lisica, 61, was in a house next door and was taken to a local hospital.

Both men were found under piles of debris.

The explosion punched a giant hole in the house next door and knocked the chimney off that house. The chimney fell onto the house next door.

The front door of the house that blew up was blasted across the street. The house there was also heavily damaged.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause. Natural gas companies have been at the scene.

The Moon Township Fire Department evacuated all of the homes in the immediate area for safety precautions. Many of the homes sustained damage from the explosion. Several were found unsafe, and officials did not let residents return to them.

Authorities called the Red Cross to the scene to help displaced residents.
