BRADY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A fast-moving fire destroyed a pizza shop and a home in Clearfield County early Thursday morning.

State police at DuBois said Giuseppe Giambanco’s home and neighboring business, Joe and Sal’s Pizza, were destroyed when the fire sparked around 1:30 a.m. Thursday on Luthersburg-Rockton Highway in Brady Township.

Police said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but determined it started in the front of the building.

Luthersburg Fire Chief Russell Perks said it was a tough blaze to control.

“It took us about an hour to get this fire under control,” Russell said. “We had a wind last night that was blowing which made the fire difficult.”

Damage was estimated at $150,000, police said. No injuries were reported in the fire.

The home was believed to be the oldest in Luthersburg, the owner said.
