Firefighters in Beaver County were battling three fires this morning, all reported within about an hour and a few miles of each other.
Crews are still on scene putting out flames at a home on 2120 Richie St. in Aliquippa, which was reported at 4:50 a.m., a Beaver County dispatcher said.
Also in Aliquippa, firefighters brought under control a house fire at 221 Wykes St. and were checking for remaining sources of heat that could rekindle the blaze around 7 a.m. The fire was reported at 3:42 a.m.
No one was injured in the two house fires, the dispatcher said, and the Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania was helping displaced families. Both managed to escape.
In Brighton, a barn fire at 165 Hall Road was reported at 3:55 a.m. Thirty lambs died and three horses were killed or had to be put down because of their burns, the dispatcher said. No other injuries were reported there.
